Yacht Race Forecast Services

Sailing Weather Services has been providing detailed forecasts for yacht races for over 20 years. Forecasts are provided for

Day races – Around the buoys and short-distance races
Long-distance races
Record attempts
Around-the-world races

Specific race packages are developed to support the needs of each competitor. Every forecast issued is a custom forecast for the particular race and yacht. Fees for races are determined based upon the individual requirements of the yacht. Our standard services and fees are described below.

Day Races (< 24 hours) View a sample Day Race Forecast.

Day race forecasts are provided for a fixed per-day rate. This fee includes a detailed text forecast and privileges for one telephone consultation prior to the start of the first race of the day. Additional telephone consultations (e.g., before the start of subsequent races on the same day) are provided at a small additional charge. All telephone consultations should be pre-arranged at the time the service is requested. All written forecast products will be sent via email. If fax delivery is required, an additional charge will be added to the fee. Please contact us for details on how we can support your race success.
Long-Distance Races (> 24 hours) View a sample Distance Race Forecast.

Text forecast packages and weather maps are sent daily beginning three days prior to the start. This service includes privileges for one telephone consultation per day prior to the start. All forecast products will be sent via email. If fax delivery is required, a small charge will be added to the fee. It is assumed that no trip-following services are required for race forecasts. Additional charges will apply for trip following and the user is responsible for arranging all communications for the service. Record Attempts

Monitoring for suitable departure windows is carried out continuously from the established "ready" date. Once a window is identified, a detailed forecast service will be activated three days prior to the expected departure, with one forecast package provided per day, culminating in a final forecast immediately prior to departure. Users are welcome to call any time to discuss the forecast and general weather situation for the attempt. The cost of this window monitoring and forecast package is established depending on the complexity and level of involvement required. All written forecast products will be sent via email. If fax delivery is required, a small charge will be added to the fee. Once the record attempt begins, trip-following services can be provided for an additional fee.
